Named after the watchmaker's tourbillon
In horology, the tourbillon is a mechanism that spins the escapement to counter gravity — an elegant answer to a hard problem, the mark of a master watchmaker. Peptourbillon™ brings that same pursuit of precision to peptide science: many delicate parts, held in perfect relation, working as one.
Where a watch's tourbillon protects timekeeping from gravity, Peptourbillon protects a multi-peptide formulation from itself — so several peptides, each with its own chemistry, can share a single cartridge and a single injection without ever degrading one another.
Multiple peptides do not want to share a vial
Combining peptides is where good ideas go to spoil. Put several in one solution and they fight — the strengths of one become the undoing of another.
- Chemical interactionPeptides with different stability requirements can degrade each other in the shared wet state.
- Administration burdenKept apart, they mean multiple injections — more dosing error, less compliance.
- StabilityPeptides are exquisitely sensitive to temperature, pH and oxidation; a compromise for one is a hazard for another.
The answer is not to mix them better. It is to keep them apart until the instant they are used.
Layer by layer, frozen as distinct phases
A multi-layered Peptourbillon is assembled the way a jeweller sets stones — one at a time, each secured before the next. The peptides are lyophilized in stages, so they only ever meet when the patient reconstitutes them.
Ultrasound-assisted freezing
Each layer is frozen while ultrasound prevents cavitation — giving uniform ice-crystal formation, because cavitation would damage delicate peptide structure.
Near-eutectic layering
The next peptide is laid onto the frozen layer just before the eutectic point, within a tight temperature window — so the layer below stays solid while the new one integrates, and no two peptides ever mix while wet.
Freeze the whole stack
Only once every layer is built and frozen down does lyophilization begin — preserving each layer as its own distinct, stable phase.
Radiofrequency-assisted drying
The drying stage uses fine-tuned radiofrequency to target water and remove it gently — no excessive heat, no thermal degradation of the peptide backbone.
Controlled release
Encapsulation and layering set how and when each layer releases on reconstitution — so every peptide acts at its peak, in the right order.
Panacea's whole stack, ensuring the best outcome
A Peptourbillon is only as good as the technologies that build and protect it. Each is a Bogdan Dicoias invention; together they secure the compound's chemistry, binding affinity and shelf life.

The Peptourbillon calculator — not the compound
Worth being precise: the Peptourbillon on this page is the compound — the layered peptide product. The Peptourbillon calculator is a separate tool, part of the S3Pulse™ system, that consults Dicoias Ψ™ and Panacea's other models to compute and deliver the recipes — the peptidic liquids and the P-EARLs™ — from which each compound is made. The calculator designs; the compound is the result.
Best chemistry, best binding, longest shelf life
- Best chemistryEach peptide sits in the conditions where it is most stable and most active — never compromised for a neighbour.
- Binding affinityStructure preserved from build to reconstitution, so the binding-competent form survives.
- Shelf lifeDried, layered and sealed under vacuum for long, stable storage.
- One injectionMany peptides delivered together — no vials, no separate mixing, fewer errors.
Frequently asked
What is Peptourbillon?
Panacea Bio Chem's single- or multi-layered peptide
compound — named after the horological tourbillon and built layer by layer through sequential
lyophilization, so several peptides live in one cartridge without degrading each other, engineered
for the best chemistry, binding affinity and shelf life.
How is a multi-layered Peptourbillon made?
Each layer is frozen individually
(ultrasound-assisted, for uniform ice), the next layer added near the eutectic point in a tight
temperature window so the frozen layer stays solid — only then does lyophilization begin, with
radiofrequency-assisted drying that removes water gently without thermal degradation.
Is Peptourbillon the same as the Peptourbillon calculator?
No. Peptourbillon is the
compound. The Peptourbillon calculator is a separate tool within S3Pulse™ that uses
Dicoias Ψ™ to compute the recipes for the peptidic liquids and P-EARLs™ that make each compound.
What role do buffers play in peptide formulations?
Buffers control pH, and pH strongly influences peptide charge, solubility and degradation rates. Buffer species can also interact with a peptide or other excipients, so formulation development considers both target pH and the chemical properties of the buffer itself. — sources: PubMed — Stability of therapeutic peptides in aqueous solutions
What role do excipients play in peptide formulations?
Excipients can stabilize peptides by controlling pH, reducing interface stress, supporting a glassy lyophilized matrix, limiting aggregation, adjusting tonicity or modifying viscosity. Their effect is not universally beneficial; compatibility must be established for the specific peptide and process. — sources: PubMed — Stability of therapeutic peptides in aqueous solutions, PubMed — Factors affecting peptide aggregation
